Recap - Scarlet Knights Defeat Temple 61-14

The battle between the Scarlet Knights and Owls didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Temple was handed a 61-14 defeat on Saturday at SHI Stadium.

Rutgers was a favorite by -14.0 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 53.0.

Noah Vedral rushed for 57 yards, while Isaih Pacheco added 48 yards in the win. Bo Melton and Aron Cruickshank added 58 and 24 receiving yards respectively.

Edward Saydee rushed for 57 yards for Temple, while Justin Lynch added 39 yards. D'Wan Mathis threw for 148 yards for the Owls, while receivers Jose Barbon and Randle Jones had 48 and 38 yards respectively.

Rutgers outgained Temple 364-264 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 21-13 by the Scarlet Knights.

Temple lost the time of possession battle 35:12-24:48, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Rutgers heads into a Week 2 battle against Syracuse. Temple, meanwhile, will have their next action against Akron.
