Duke Defeats Northwestern 30-23 - Recap

Gunnar Holmberg threw for 314 yards to lead the Blue Devils over Northwestern 30-23 on Saturday in Week 3 action at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Duke was the ATS victor, as they covered the +2.0-point spread as an underdog. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 49.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Gunnar Holmberg completed 31 of 44 pass attempts for 314 yards for the Blue Devils in the win.

Evan Hull rushed for 49 yards for Northwestern, while Andrew Marty added 44 yards. Andrew Marty threw for 151 yards for the Wildcats, while receivers Bryce Kirtz and Stephon Robinson Jr. had 72 and 54 yards respectively.

Northwestern was outgained by Duke 558-407 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 26-22 by the Blue Devils.

The time of possession battle favored Duke as their offense was on the field for 37:31, longer than the 22:29 of their opponents.

Next game, Duke takes its act home to face Kansas looking for another win. For Northwestern, they head home to face Ohio.
