Vanderbilt Commodores vs Colorado State Rams Wrap - Vanderbilt Wins 24-21

Vanderbilt earned a 24-21 victory over Colorado State on Saturday in Week 2 action at Canvas Stadium.

Vanderbilt won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +6.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 52.0.

Re'Mahn Davis rushed for 77 yards, while Rocko Griffin added 24 yards in the win. Chris Pierce Jr. and Cam Johnson added 76 and 66 receiving yards respectively.

David Bailey rushed for 80 yards for Colorado State, while Todd Centeio added 75 yards. Todd Centeio threw for 238 yards for the Rams, while receivers Trey McBride and Dante Wright had 114 and 43 yards respectively.

Vanderbilt was outgained by Colorado State 445-342 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 21-20 by the Commodores.

Colorado State lost the time of possession battle 35:27-24:33, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Vanderbilt takes its act home to face Stanford looking for another win. For Colorado State, they head on the road to face Toledo.
