Recap - Broncos Defeat UTEP 54-13

Hank Bachmeier sliced and diced the Miners defense for 340 yards as Boise State handed UTEP a 54-13 defeat on Friday at Albertsons Stadium.

Boise State won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -25.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 56.5.

Hank Bachmeier completed 17 of 24 pass attempts for 340 yards for the Broncos in the win.

Ronald Awatt rushed for 44 yards for UTEP, while Reynaldo Flores added 38 yards. Gavin Hardison threw for 223 yards for the Miners, while receivers Jacob Cowing and Justin Garrett had 112 and 35 yards respectively.

UTEP was outgained by Boise State 461-336 yards in Friday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 21-20 by the Broncos.

Boise State lost the time of possession battle 34:36-25:24, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Boise State heads into a Week 3 battle against Oklahoma State. UTEP, meanwhile, will have their next action against New Mexico.
