Recap - Bearcats Defeat Navy 27-20

Cincinnati earned a 27-20 victory over Navy on Saturday in Week 8 action at Jack Stephens Field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Cincinnati won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -29.0-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 49.0.

Jerome Ford rushed for 90 yards, while Desmond Ridder added 6 yards in the win. Josh Whyle and Alec Pierce added 60 and 37 receiving yards respectively.

Isaac Ruoss rushed for 80 yards for Navy, while James Harris II added 27 yards. Tai Lavatai threw for 116 yards for the Midshipmen, while receivers Kai Puailoa-Rojas and Chance Warren had 47 and 29 yards respectively.

Cincinnati was outgained by Navy 308-271 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-14 by the Midshipmen.

The time of possession battle favored Navy as their offense was on the field for 39:27, longer than the 20:33 of their opponents.

Cincinnati heads into a 9 battle against Tulane. Navy, meanwhile, will have their next action against Tulsa.
