Ball State Falls 24-17 to RedHawks - Recap

Jack Sorenson caught 8 passes for 138 yards against the Ball State defense as Miami-OH handed the Cardinals a 24-17 loss on Saturday at Scheumann Stadium.

Miami-OH won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +3.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 53.0.

Tyre Shelton rushed for 46 yards, while Kevin Davis added 43 yards in the win. Jack Sorenson and Mac Hippenhammer added 138 and 57 receiving yards respectively.

Carson Steele rushed for 49 yards for Ball State, while Will Jones added 31 yards. Drew Plitt threw for 227 yards for the Cardinals, while receivers Jayshon Jackson and Yo'Heinz Tyler had 121 and 43 yards respectively.

Ball State lost the offensive yardage battle to Miami-OH 360-327 yards in Saturday's game. Ball State had more first downs as that total ended up 20-18.

The time of possession battle favored Miami-OH as their offense was on the field for 34:32, longer than the 25:28 of their opponents.

Miami-OH looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Ohio. Ball State will aim to get back on the winning track at Akron.
