Maryland Falls 51-14 to Hawkeyes - Recap

The battle between the Hawkeyes and Terrapins didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Maryland was handed a 51-14 defeat on Friday at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.

Iowa was a favorite by -3.0 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 47.5.

Tyler Goodson rushed for 66 yards, while Ivory Kelly-Martin added 62 yards in the win. Tyler Goodson and Sam LaPorta added 85 and 49 receiving yards respectively.

Taulia Tagovailoa rushed for 24 yards for Maryland, while Colby McDonald added 23 yards. Taulia Tagovailoa threw for 157 yards for the Terrapins, while receivers Dontay Demus Jr. and Corey Dyches had 61 and 45 yards respectively.

Iowa outgained Maryland 428-271 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 24-14 by the Hawkeyes.

The time of possession battle favored Iowa as their offense was on the field for 39:00, longer than the 21:00 of their opponents.

Next game, Iowa takes its act home to face Penn State looking for another win. For Maryland, they head on the road to face Ohio State.
