Charlotte 49ers vs Illinois Fighting Illini Recap - Fighting Illini Win 24-14

The 49ers had no answer for Chase Brown on Saturday as the Fighting Illini rolled to a 24-14 win at Memorial Stadium.

Even though Illinois won, nobody won at the betting window as the game was a push (based on the closing point spread of -10.0. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 53.5.

Chase Brown rushed for 257 yards, while Josh McCray added 64 yards in the win. Isaiah Williams and Casey Washington added 24 and 18 receiving yards respectively.

Calvin Camp rushed for 29 yards for Charlotte, while Chris Reynolds added 26 yards. Chris Reynolds threw for 191 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Grant DuBose and Victor Tucker had 70 and 55 yards respectively.

Charlotte was outgained by Illinois 414-263 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-17 by the Fighting Illini.

Illinois led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 34:03-25:57 split in that important category.

Next game, Illinois takes its act home to face Wisconsin looking for another win. For Charlotte, they head on the road to face FIU.
