Wake Forest Defeats Louisville 37-34 - Recap

Sam Hartman threw for 324 yards to lead the Demon Deacons over Louisville 37-34 on Saturday in Week 5 action at Truist Field.

The Demon Deacons earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -7.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 64.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Sam Hartman completed 23 of 40 pass attempts for 324 yards for the Demon Deacons in the win.

Jalen Mitchell rushed for 89 yards for Louisville, while Trevion Cooley added 61 yards. Malik Cunningham threw for 309 yards for the Cardinals, while receivers Tyler Harrell and Jordan Watkins had 75 and 62 yards respectively.

Wake Forest was outgained by Louisville 522-501 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 26-25 by the Demon Deacons.

Wake Forest lost the time of possession battle 34:36-25:24, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Wake Forest looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Syracuse. Louisville will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Virginia.
