San Jose State Defeats New Mexico State 37-31 - Recap

The Aggies had no answer for Tyler Nevens on Saturday as the Spartans rolled to a 37-31 win at CEFCU Stadium.

San Jose State won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -25.0-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 51.5.

Tyler Nevens rushed for 115 yards, while Kairee Robinson added 46 yards in the win. Derrick Deese Jr. and Isaiah Hamilton added 130 and 27 receiving yards respectively.

O'Maury Samuels rushed for 57 yards for New Mexico State, while Jonah Johnson added 24 yards. Jonah Johnson threw for 300 yards for the Aggies, while receivers Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda and Jared Wyatt had 90 and 52 yards respectively.

New Mexico State was outgained by San Jose State 402-386 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-18 by the Aggies.

The time of possession battle favored San Jose State as their offense was on the field for 30:29, longer than the 29:31 of their opponents.

San Jose State heads into a Week 6 battle against Colorado State. New Mexico State, meanwhile, will have their next action against Nevada.
