Truex Jr. Secures Round Of 12 Spot With Win At Richmond

Martin Truex Jr. won the Federated Auto Parts 400 Salute to First Responders in the second race of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs at Richmond Raceway in Virginia on Saturday, September 11.

With the win, Truex joined regular-season champion Kyle Larson and the prior week’s winner, Denny Hamlin, as the only drivers guaranteed a spot in the Round of 12 in Vegas in two weeks. It was his third win in his last five races at Richmond and his fourth win of the season.

Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Larson, Ross Chastain, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top 10.

Next up on the NASCAR docket is the third race in the three-race Round of 16, the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee on Saturday, September 18.
